The following faculty received funding awards in August 2017.

The Duke Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Center has announced three opportunities for funding beginning July 1,  2018. Letters of interest are due Nov. 1, 2017.

Duke AHEAD will host Health Professions Education Day: Working and Learning Together to Advance Health and Wellness for All on Mon., Oct. 16 from 8 a.m.-1:15 p.m. in the Trent Semans Center.

The School of Medicine departments, institutes and centers oversee a wide range of research core facilities. To enable investigators to access these services for exciting new studies that are not yet externally funded, we are pleased to announce the 2017 Fall Core Facility Voucher Program. The current submission deadline is Oct. 20, 2017.

Dean Mary Klotman, MD, announced that Adrian Hernandez, MD, professor of medicine (Cardiology), will serve as the new vice dean for clinical research for the Duke University School of Medicine.

The Duke Project Management Community of Practice (PMCoP) will hold its official launch event on Wed. Oct. 4, 2017 from 4-5 p.m. in 131 Hanes House. 

Benjamin Reese Jr., PhD, Chief Diversity Officer and Vice President of the Office for Institutional Equity at Duke University, will discuss the role of implicit bias in people’s everyday lives and work teams at this free event on Oct. 17 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

The Duke Global Health Institute's Evidence Lab recently developed a series of tools to help social enterprises in healthcare evaluate their services, products and/or technologies. One of the evaluation tools (#3 of 5) was co-authored by GIM's own Santanu Datta, PhD. 

Chenita Jackson started her role as a new patient navigator for the Advance Care Planning initiative at the Duke Outpatient Clinic back in August.
