It was announced back in February of 2016 that Duke would be launching a new Department of Population Health Sciences. Since then a lot has taken place! We sat down with Interim Chair, Lesley Curtis, PhD, to hear more about what has been happening in the new department since its official launch date of July 1, 2017.

Dr. Bentley-Edwards receives $2.7 million grant from NIH
We are proud to announce GIM Assistant Professor of Medicine, Keisha Bentley-Edwards, PhD, has received a $2,713,229 grant from the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to support a five-year study aimed at investigating the relationship between religion, spirituality and cardiovascular disease risks in African Americans and serve as a catalyst for evidence-based interventions to support positive health outcomes for African Americans.
