Cynthia Moylan receives 2015 ACG Junior Faculty Development Grant

Cynthia Moylan, MD, MHS, assistant professor of medicine (Gastroenterology) has been awarded one of three 2015 ACG Junior Faculty Development Grants from the American College of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Moylan received the award for her proposal entitled, "Epigenetics and the Development of Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease."

As a recipient of the ACG Junior Faculty Development Award, Moylan will receive $100,000 per year for each of three years. She will be designated as an ACG Scholar and recognized at the ACG Annual Scientific Meeting.

"This is wonderful recognition of Cindy's work, and so well deserved," said Andrew Muir, MD, chief of the Division of Gastroenterology.

Moylan is mentored by Gastroenterology faculty members Anna Mae Diehl, MD and Manal Abdelmalek, MD, and Susan Murphy, PhD, associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology.

Moylan is also a member of the Duke Cancer Institute. She previously received a 2014 Chancellor’s Discovery Program Award, and she was a fellow in the Department of Medicine Faculty Development Academy Basic/Translational Science Research branch.
