The Duke Solid Organ Transplant Summit will be held on Sat., Sept. 23 at the Duke University School of Nursing.

This week Mary Klotman, MD, transitions to her new role as Dean of the Duke University School of Medicine. Department of Medicine faculty, trainees and staff are remembering Dr. Klotman's leadership and service to the Department during her tenure as chair, from 2010-2017, with words of thanks.  Here are a few words from your colleagues:

Dr. Nirmala Amaldoss, who served as a clinician-educator in the Division of General of Internal Medicine since 2003, died on June 23. The funeral was held Monday, June 26.

This Friday, Mary Klotman, MD, chair of the Department of Medicine, presents her final State of the Department of Medicine at Medicine Grand Rounds as she transitions into the role of Dean of the Duke University School of Medicine. In celebration of Dr. Klotman's service and the accomplishments of the Department's faculty, trainees and staff, we are remembering her tenure this week with a series of interviews and stories.

On Wednesday, June 21st, family, patients and colleagues gathered at Duke Integrative Medicine to celebrate Dr. Eve Lausier's career and retirement.

The following faculty received funding awards in May 2017.

MEDx is pleased to announce a call for proposals that focus on, or have relevance to, lung function or diseases of the lung, especially pulmonary fibrosis. We anticipate awarding 3 to 5 grants that range in amount up to $150,000 in direct costs. Proposals are due on September 14, 2017.
