Giving

The Duke Division of Rheumatology and Immunology helps fund the efforts of physicians and scientists working to discover the causes and cures of autoimmune disease and supports the education of the next generation of rheumatologists and immunologists.

Training future rheumatologists and immunologists is of the utmost importance to our division. Please consider supporting the Division of Rheumatology by contributing to our fellowship funds.

The Nancy Bates Allen, M.D., Fellowship Fund has been established to honor Dr. Allen's many years of dedication to training the next generation of rheumatologists. This fund helps support research, participation in scientific meetings, and other supplemental training for current Duke Rheumatology fellows.

The David S. Caldwell, M.D. and John R. Rice, M.D. Clinical Rheumatology Scholarship Award helps pay the salary of one senior clinical fellow each year. The Caldwell/Rice fellowship is awarded to the Senior Clinical Fellow exemplifying the essentials of Rheumatology practice: Care, Concern Compassion, Knowledge, Honesty, Integrity, Humility, and, above all, Advocacy for the Patient.
