SoM accepting applications for 2017 LEADER program

Applications are now open for the School of Medicine's 2017 course on Leadership Development for Researchers (LEADER). This 3-day interactive learning program, held April 18-20, 2017, is designed to equip early career faculty with the professional competencies to effectively lead successful scientific research enterprises. The application deadline is Dec. 5.

Voils named consulting editor of APA journal

Corinne Voils, PhD, professor of medicine (General Internal Medicine), has been appointed as a Consulting Editor for Health Psychology. Her term begins January 1, 2017 and extends for two years.

Sadler gives second annual William H. Kane Hematology Lecture

Perlman to serve on National Advisory Council

Adam Perlman, MD, Executive Director of Duke Integrative Medicine and Associate Professor of Medicine, has been invited to serve on the National Advisory Council for Complementary and Integrative Health.

Califf named to the National Academy of Medicine

Robert Califf, MD, is one of three members of the Duke University School of Medicine faculty to be named to the prestigious National Academy of Medicine, an independent advisory organization made up of leading professionals in health, medicine and the natural, social, and behavioral sciences.

Apply for Chair's Research Award 2017

The Department of Medicine Chair's Office is now accepting applications for the 2017 Chair’s Research Award, which funds junior investigators who are making the transition to becoming independent scientists and planning for their first extramural funding. Deadline to apply is Jan. 4, 2017.
