The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) has presented its 2018 Oswald Avery Award for Early Achievement to Susanna Naggie, MD, MHS, associate professor of medicine (Infectious Diseases), for her novel research on the treatment of patients co-infected with HIV and hepatitis C virus (HCV).

Ann Marie Navar, MD, PhD, assistant professor of medicine (Cardiology), has been named Associate Editor at JAMA Cardiology.

The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) has announced that Barbara Alexander, MD, professor of medicine (Infectious Diseases) and pathology, will serve as the IDSA board's vice president as part of the executive committee.

The Department of Medicine Chair's Office is now accepting applications for the 2019 Chair’s Research Award, which funds junior investigators who are making the transition to becoming independent scientists and planning for their first extramural funding.
