In March, Anthony Galanos, MD, associate professor of medicine (Geriatrics), received one of this year’s prestigious Cunniff-Dixon Physician Awards for excellence in the practice of palliative medicine, awarded by the Hastings Center for Bioethics. (See previous post.) The Hastings Center has now posted this video featuring Dr. Galanos and the other winners.

Duke University's graduate and professional schools continue to rank among the top institutions in their disciplines, according to the latest rankings from U.S. News & World Report. Medical school deans and faculty selected the best medical specialty programs, and Duke was recognized in geriatrics (fourth), internal medicine (fourth), women's health (fifth), AIDS (eighth) and family medicine (10th).

Gregory Sempowski, PhD, associate professor of medicine (Human Vaccine Institute) was recently awarded a Pepper Scholar Award from the Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Center at Duke.
