Tripartite Leadership: Yancy’s vision for GIM

Dr. William Yancy became the Interim Division Chief of General Internal Medicine (GIM) in January 2023. His leadership embodies the tripartite mission of patient care, research, and education that remains the foundation of the Department of Medicine.

GIM Faculty Spotlight: David Casarett, MD

David Casarett, MD, joined Duke in September of 2016 and is the Chief of Palliative Care for Duke Health as well as the Director for the Duke Center for Palliative Care. Learn more about him in our interview.

2022 GIM Excellence Awards

General Internal Medicine announces the 7th annual Excellence Awards to honor the outstanding achievements of our division's faculty and staff members in clinical care, education, research, implementation, and professionalism. This year, we added a few more award categories and are excited to have 10 individual awards as well as one team award.
