Dr. William Yancy became the Interim Division Chief of General Internal Medicine (GIM) in January 2023. His leadership embodies the tripartite mission of patient care, research, and education that remains the foundation of the Department of Medicine.

The Duke Palliative Care program will celebrate 25 years this spring, a program that was impressively built from the ground up at Duke.

28 faculty from the School of Medicine, including 11 faculty from the Department of Medicine, have been selected for the School of Medicine's 2023 Duke Clinical Leadership Program cohort.

David Casarett, MD, joined Duke in September of 2016 and is the Chief of Palliative Care for Duke Health as well as the Director for the Duke Center for Palliative Care. Learn more about him in our interview.

General Internal Medicine announces the 7th annual Excellence Awards to honor the outstanding achievements of our division's faculty and staff members in clinical care, education, research, implementation, and professionalism. This year, we added a few more award categories and are excited to have 10 individual awards as well as one team award.
