Bae Named Chief Quality Officer for Duke University Hospital
In this new role for Duke University Hospital, Dr. Bae will join the hospital as a member of the senior leadership team with the responsibility to set the overall clinical direction, leadership, and operational management of quality and safety programs of Duke University Hospital.
Haga and Wu Plan Study to Evaluate Best Practices for Implementing Pharmacogenetics in Clinical Settings
The study will look at the use of pharmacogenetic testing in clinical settings, which has not been widely implemented at this point, to identify driving factors of higher and lower utilization.
Shah Promoted to Associate Professor and Named Interim CMO for Duke Primary Care
We are pleased to announce that Kevin Shah, MD, MBA, has been promoted to Associate Professor of Medicine in the division of General Internal Medicine (GIM), effective September 1, 2022.
Dr. Shah was also recently named interim Chief Medical Officer of Duke Primary Care, overseeing the continuum of work after John Anderson, MD, left this role in July.
Cary Ward, MD, Appointed Associate Dean for Faculty Development
In this role Ward will serve as the faculty lead for current and future School of Medicine (SoM) faculty development programs including Leadership Development for Researchers (LEADER); Academic Leadership, Innovation, and Collaborative Engagement (ALICE); and the Duke Clinical Leadership Program (DCLP).
GIM Launches Newly Reorganized Precision Medicine Program
The Duke Precision Medicine Program will bring proven precision medicine technologies from the basic science portfolio to the clinical setting through both research and clinical programs
