The School of Medicine will host a workshop on time management for researchers led by Peter Ubel, MD, from 12-1:30 p.m. on Mon., Aug. 7.
DIHI announces 2017 Innovation Jam
Duke Institute for Health Innovation (DIHI), along with other sponsors from Duke University Main Campus, Duke Health, and PDC, is organizing the third Innovation Jam. This will be a shark tank-style event on October 3, 2017, where Duke innovators, inventors and entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to pitch their ideas to a team of internal “investors.” All faculty, staff, trainees and students are encouraged to apply.
MEDx call for proposals from the Kaganov Innovation Fund
MEDx is pleased to announce a call for proposals that focus on, or have relevance to, lung function or diseases of the lung, especially pulmonary fibrosis. We anticipate awarding 3 to 5 grants that range in amount up to $150,000 in direct costs. Proposals are due on September 14, 2017.

Rymer receives The Mario Family Foundation Award
Jennifer Rymer, MD, MBA, cardiovascular disease fellow, will receive The Mario Family Foundation Award, which supports junior investigators in training in the Department of Medicine to make the transition to become independent scientists and planning for their first extra-mural funding.
