Less chemo, more targeted immunotherapy for all types of cancer: that’s the dream of cancer researchers today. Brent Hanks, MD, Ph.D., and April Salama, MD, associate professors in the division of Medical Oncology, are on the leading edge of helping to make that dream a reality for stage four melanoma patients.

David Casarett, MD, joined Duke in September of 2016 and is the Chief of Palliative Care for Duke Health as well as the Director for the Duke Center for Palliative Care. Learn more about him in our interview.

This program is designed for faculty members who are leading education programs, courses, or curriculum.

A new model to predict the life expectancy of older people relies less on their specific disease diagnoses and more on factors such as the ability to grocery shop, the amount of certain small cholesterol particles circulating in their blood, and whether they never or only occasionally smoked.

The series kicks off October 25, 2022, 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sessions will continue approximately monthly.

Yi Zeng, PhD, a professor in the division of Geriatrics, has been selected and recognized as one of the “Healthy Ageing 50” by the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing. This award recognizes fifty leaders working to transform the world to be a better place to grow older.
