Rana Gupta explains research on fat cells

The Department of Medicine (DOM) Research Development Council (RDC) is dedicated to supporting investigators, particularly junior faculty. One of the most successful means by which the RDC does so is through concept reviews, a process by which grant applicants present their research to a panel of Duke science experts prior to submission. 

Congratulations to the following faculty members for their recent promotion in the Department of Medicine.

Compassion is a core value for the Duke University medical community. But how does one go about teaching it? Pose the question to longtime medical educator Diana McNeill, MD, director and a co-founder of the interprofessional Diabetes Clinic at Duke Outpatient Clinic (DOC-DM), and she readily responds, “You can’t teach compassion; you role model it.”
