The Educator Café within the Division of General Internal Medicine (DGIM) is a dedicated space for educators to learn, collaborate, and connect around works in progress and educational innovation.
In Fall 2026/Winter 2027, we will introduce a new Educator Faculty Development Curriculum consisting of four highly interactive sessions. Each session will begin with a brief didactic presentation followed by facilitated discussion focused on sharing best practices and practical strategies for teaching and mentoring learners.
These sessions are open to all DGIM faculty and chief residents. They may be particularly valuable for promotion-track, regular-rank and non-regular-rank faculty who teach residents and/or health professions students in ambulatory clinical settings. Content will be grounded in the ACGME Clinician Educator Milestones and designed to support faculty development across a range of educational roles.
Following this initial series, the Educator Café will transition to quarterly meetings in 2027. These sessions will include discussions of core educator topics as well as the Ideas Incubator, a forum for peer feedback and support on educational projects, curricula, programs, and scholarship.
Time: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Format: Hybrid, with in-person participation at the DGIM Offices, 710 W. Main Street
Lunch: Provided for in-person attendees
(Note: Faculty who attend may block one clinical slot in advance to allow time to participate. Please coordinate with your clinic teams and avoid canceling existing patient appointments.)
