Farewell Corinne Voils, PhD
Corrine Voils, PhD, has recently accepted a position with University of Wisconsin Madison (UW Madison) and will begin there in January 2017. She will have an appointment at the Madison VAMC with a joint appointment as Professor with tenure in the Division of General Surgery in the Department of Surgery.
Lantos published in Clinical Infectious Diseases
Last month, Paul Lantos, MD, a Duke Medicine hospitalist and Pediatric Infectious Diseases specialist, was lead author of a fascinating study about influenza illness in North Carolina. The researchers asked whether living near the state’s hog farms affect the strains of flu that infect us. The short answer is “yes” and we should pay attention.

Bosworth organizes conference on medication adherence
Professor of Medicine, Hayden Bosworth, PhD, organized a recent conference in Washington, DC, entitled, "Suboptimal Medication Use and Population Health - Intersection of Research, Implementation, and Policy." The meeting was sponsored by the PhRMA Foundation and Duke University, the Alliance Development & Government Affairs at Horizon Government Affairs, and The Medication Adherence Alliance.

Improving clinical training in Singapore
Larry Greenblatt, MD, and Nilesh Patel, MD, travelled to Singapore in November to continue their project to improve clinical training for 2nd and 4th year students at Duke-NUS.
GIM Holiday Celebration 2016
