The division of General Internal Medicine held their first annual Proud To Be GIM Celebration on Thursday, October 26, at the GIM offices in downtown Durham. This was our first in-person division-wide event held since the pandemic.

Rubin Appointed to Mastership in ACP
Sharon Rubin, MD, associate professor of medicine in the division of General Internal Medicine and Practice Medical Director at Duke Primary Care at Pickett Road, was recently honored with a Mastership in the American College of Physicians (ACP).
"I was surprised and humbled to be chosen for Mastership," says Dr. Rubin. "I never expected to become a master, ever!"

Gallagher named Duke University Hospital CMO
David Gallagher, MD, SFHM, has been named Chief Medical Officer for Duke University Hospital, effective May 1, 2023.
In this role, Dr. Gallagher will work in conjunction with the DUH Senior Leadership Team to oversee all hospital operations, lead the development of standard work, ensure the delivery of effective care, and manage medical staff matters and concerns.
