Disorders of particular interest to HTC investigators include antiphospholipid antibody syndrome, heparin-induced thrombocytopenia, and other complex thrombotic disorders.
Members of the Hemostasis and Thrombosis Center provide comprehensive primary and consultative care for patients with hemorrhagic and thromboembolic disorders on an inpatient and outpatient basis. The Clinical Coagulation and Platelet Antibody Laboratories provide an extensive menu of clinical laboratory testing in support of the mission of the Center, as well as referral laboratory services. We are a leading referral center in the Southeast for patients with a wide variety of hemostatic and thrombotic disorders and offer innovative care and novel therapies for these patients.
Our mission is to provide a multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and management of patients with hemorrhagic and thromboembolic disorders, conduct clinical, translational, and basic research studies; and teach physicians, students, and other healthcare providers about this specialty.
Our programs focus on patients with complex hemorrhagic and thromboembolic disorders; anticoagulation management issues, and provision of peri-operative and peri-procedural support. Specialists in maternal-fetal medicine, pediatrics, genetic counseling, interventional radiology and surgery who have a particular interest in patients with these disorders are also members of the Center.
