The recipients of the Department of Medicine faculty Excellence in Education Awards have been announced.

Two faculty members from the Department of Medicine have been selected to receive 2020 Physician-Scientist “Strong Start” awards from the School of Medicine.

Three internal medicine residents and five fellows have been elected to the Duke University School of Medicine chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society for Spring 2020.

Peter Kussin, MD, professor of medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine, is the recipient of the 2020 Duke Presidential Award. Dr. Kussin was presented with the award by Duke University President Vincent Price at a ceremony on Feb. 25, 2020.

Armando Bedoya, MD, will serve as associate chair for data science, a new role to assist faculty and trainees as they seek access to health care data and support from the various teams across Duke University.
