This history of Duke Gastroenterology dates back to 1930 when the Duke University School of Medicine was founded. Over the past nine decades Duke GI has established a renowned clinical practice alongside its highly respected research and training programs.  While Duke GI's clinical presence has grown to locations throughout the Triangle and innovation has advanced the gastroenterology specialty, we are proud to continue the focus on the division's core mission of delivering quality, thoughtful patient care, making advancements through research, and offering world-class training programs

Much has changed since 1930, but the recognition of our past is unmistakable as one walks the halls of the Duke GI Administration suites in the Duke Clinic building where the historical photo gallery of Duke GI is proudly displayed.
