AJPH Publishing Supplemental Issue on Health Disparities

The American Journal of Public Health (AJPH),  with the National Institutes of Health and FDA Office on Minority Health, intends to publish a supplement issue on the science of eliminating health disparities. Original epidemiological, genetic, behavioral, social, and policy-oriented research articles, commentaries, perspectives, and critical reviews of major problem areas related to health disparities in the United States are invited. Papers are due by July 1.

MRRC Hosting Talk on Careers in Academic Medicine

The Department of Medicine’s Minority Recruitment and Retention Committee will host a presentation and dinner from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Mon., June 16 in Duke North Room 1103. The guest speaker is Isaretta Riley, MD, a third-year fellow in Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Riley will present “Pursuing A Career in Academic Medicine.”

NIH Offering K07 Cancer Career Development Award

NIH logoThe Cancer Prevention, Control, Behavioral Sciences, and Population Sciences Career Development Award (K07) will support the career development of junior investigators with research or health professional doctoral degrees who want to become academic researchers in cancer prevention, cancer control, or the behavioral or population sciences.
