Christy Walters, RN Recipient of Research Staff Excellence Award

Christy Walters, RN, Research Program Leader in the GI division is a recipient of the inaugural Research Staff Excellence Award. This Duke Department of Medicine award recognizes exceptional contributions to clinical and laboratory research studies within the Department of Medicine and celebrates frontline research staff who demonstrate sustained excellence in implementing research protocols, managing teams, and troubleshooting complex experiments.

Duke GI Expanding Esophageal Care in Wake County

Duke GI is pleased to announce expanded service to patients in Wake County with the recent hire of gastroenterologist Alexander Reddy, MD.  As Director of Motility at Duke Gastroenterology of Raleigh, Dr. Reddy will provide comprehensive GI care, with a focus on the diagnosis and treatment of esophageal conditions such as Barrett's esophagus and swallowing disorders. 

David Leiman, MD, MSHP Receives Mentorship Award

Dr. David Leiman, Associate Professor of Medicine in the Gastroenterology division is the recipient of the 2024 Dawn Provenzale Mentorship Award in Gastroenterology. This annual award recognizes Duke Gastroenterology faculty who have demonstrated sustained commitment to excellence in mentoring.
