Welcome
We are thrilled that you have shown interest in our wonderful program. Since its beginning in 1986, the Duke Med-Peds program has trained physicians to care for patients across the age spectrum. Our mission is to train physicians to provide respectful, quality care to all patient populations, to practice evidence-based, humanistic medicine, and to become future leaders in health care.
Our program’s vision centers on patient care, mentorship, scholarship, inclusion, community, and leadership. We are fortunate to have excellent medicine and pediatrics categorical programs to train alongside, providing vast opportunities in the care of patients in the clinic, in the hospital, and across subspecialties. Additionally, we have a large Med-Peds community, with more than 60 Med-Peds trained faculty and fellows across Duke Health.
Our residents bring a wealth of backgrounds, perspectives, experiences and skills. They pursue interests in clinical care, including quality improvement, research, education, advocacy, and global health. Our program strives to help residents in the pursuit of these interests while training them to be competent and humanistic physicians. Our residents are what makes this program special, and we aim to support them professionally and personally during this time in their career. Our graduates go on to pursue careers in primary care, hospital medicine, and a variety of subspecialties.
The Duke Med-Peds Program aims to enhance our understanding of systemic biases and health disparities to promote equitable care for all patients. We are committed to fostering a culture of inclusion in which residents and faculty experience belonging, engagement, and achievement.
We invite you to continue exploring our website to learn more about our program.
Sincerely,
Colby Feeney, MD
