DHTS Now Supporting Duke/GIM Computer and IT Needs

Effective April 7, 2014, Duke Health Technology Services (DHTS) is now supporting all Duke/GIM computer and IT needs. All computer and IT problems should be submitted using the instructions below. For VA computers and issues, continue to submit your request through the VA as you have in the past. The directions for submitting a ticket are below, please note you will need to be connected to the Duke network to submit a ticket through the web. 1.

Zullig Wins VA Career Development Award

[caption id="attachment_603" align="alignleft" width="150"]Zullig Dr. Leah Zullig[/caption] Dr. Leah Zullig received a VA Career Development Award, Her award, "Colorectal Cancer Survivorship Care in the Veterans Affairs Healthcare System," will support her research of ways to improve care and outcomes through self-management interventions. Congratulations, Dr. Zullig!

Dr. Saumil Chudgar Receives Professionalism Award

Saumil Chudgar, MD recently received a 2013 Practice Course Professionalism Award from Duke University School of Medicine. Saumil was selected by second-year medical students in the Practice Course. The award recognizes exceptional professional behavior in a clinical setting. The Practice Course teaches professionalism, and the goal of the course is to develop physicians who will treat patients with respect. Congratulations, Saumil!

Dr. Maciejewski awarded AHRQ R01 on medication management in Medicare

Matthew Maciejeswski, PhD received an R01 grant from AHRQ, entitled: "Fragmentation in Medication Management in Medicare." This 18 month study will characterize the prevalence, risks and benefits of continuity of medication management on health care and health outcomes among Medicare beneficiaries with multiple co morbid chronic diseases.  Congratulations, Matt!

Dr. Kelli Allen promoted to Full Professor

Kelli Dominick Allen, PhD was promoted to Full Professor! Kelli has spent much of her distinguished career advancing the health of patients with osteoarthritis through her conduct of rigorous studies employing methods in health services, clinical and comparative effectiveness, and patient centered outcomes research. He work has focused on improving care for osteoarthritis, with a focus on self-management, physical activity, and physical therapy related care.
