Perlman Invited to Join Faculty at 2015 ACP Internal Medicine Meeting
Adam Perlman, MD, executive director of Integrative Medicine, has been invited to join the faculty for the American College of Physicians’ 2015 Internal Medicine Meeting in April, where he will present the internal medicine portion of the Multiple Small Feedings of the Mind Session. OPS Offering F32 Seminar Series for Post-Docs
The Office for Postdoctoral Services is launching a new program for post-doctorates who are preparing NIH F32 applications. This program include both seminars and hands-on workshops. The following workshops will be offered this fall in Room 143 of the Jones Building:
ALA Offering Up to $200,000 for Lung Cancer Research
The American Lung Association’s Lung Cancer Discovery Award will offer up to $100,000 a year for up to two years to support research in lung cancer. Available areas of research include the development of novel medical treatments, advancing current treatment options and/or finding a cure for lung cancer through clinical, laboratory, epidemiological, or any other kind of research.
2014 Fall Core Facility Voucher Program Now Available
The School of Medicine has announced its 2014 Fall Core Facility Voucher Program. This joint program with the School of Medicine and the Duke Translational Research Institute (DTRI) Pilot Program will offer vouchers in amounts ranging from $500 to $10,000, redeemable for provision of services at Duke University core facilities/shared resources. Twenty vouchers, based on scientific merit, will be issued in the 2014 Fall Program.

The Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust (CART) fund is supporting exploratory and developmental AD research projects within the United States.
AHA CVGPS Grand Challenge Award Offering up to $500,000
The American Heart Association (AHA)’s Cardiovascular Genome Phenome Study (CVGPS) Grand Challenge Award will offer $250,000 a year for up to two years for research examining inter-individual and patient-to-patient differences for chronic diseases such as atherosclerosis and hypertension.
