James Tulsky, MD, professor of medicine (General Internal Medicine) and chief of Duke Palliative Care, has been awarded $1.7 million from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) for a communication and dissemination research project.

Karen E. Steinhauser, PhD, is co-hosting "State of the Science in Spirituality and Palliative Care Research." This conference, to be held Sept- 30-Oct. 1, will feature 11 scholars from across North America who will discuss current and future research on a variety of subjects in spirituality and palliative care.
