Dr. Tulsky delivers invited plenary lecture

James Tulsky gave the closing plenary session last week at the National Palliative Care Research Center Annual Retreat and Symposium on his body of work in communication research– “Behind Closed Doors: The Power of Words in the Medical Encounter”

Dr. Voils' work recognized among best at Obesity Week

Corrine Voils' abstract was judged to be "among the best in the field" and will be recognized among 10 winners in the Obesity Society's Health Services Research Section. Their work will receive special recognition during Obesity Week, held in Atlanta from November 11-16 at the Georgia World Congress Center. Congratulations, Corrine!

Four faculty receive awards at Spring Meeting

At the Spring Faculty Meeting on April 30, the following Medicine faculty were honored with awards: Christopher O'Connor, MD, chief of the Division of Cardiology, professor of medicine and associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, received the Research Mentoring Award in for excellence in clinically based science mentoring.

Duke diver, son of GIM's McCrory, to compete in London Olympics

UPDATE 7/30/2012: McCrory gets bronze! Duke undergraduate Nick McCrory is one of two Duke divers competing in the London Olympics. McCrory is the son of Douglas McCrory, MD, MHSc, associate professor of medicine (General Internal Medicine). McCrory fils was also featured in this Today Show segment.
