AAFP Offering Joint Grant Awards Program
The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) is offering its Joint Grant Awards Program to support family medicine research. The program goals are to support research of value to practicing family physicians, encourage proposals by junior investigators, and fund pilot studies. The AAFP will award up to $50,000 for each project; applications are due by December 1.
NIH Funding Tech Improvements to Data Collection in NIDDK Clinical Studies
The NIH have issued a funding opportunity announcement to support research or develop devices, software, or technology that will optimize data collection for NIDDK clinical studies. Total funding support normally may not exceed $150,000 for Phase I awards and $1,000,000 for Phase II awards. Applications are due by December 5. Read more.
Flu Vaccinations Now Available
Flu vaccines are now available free of charge to all School of Medicine faculty and staff. Annual vaccination is required for all Division faculty or staff who do clinical work and is strongly encouraged for other Division faculty and staff. Steinhauser Co-Hosting National Palliative Care Research Conference
Karen E. Steinhauser, PhD, is co-hosting "State of the Science in Spirituality and Palliative Care Research." This conference, to be held Sept- 30-Oct. 1, will feature 11 scholars from across North America who will discuss current and future research on a variety of subjects in spirituality and palliative care.
