Spotlight: Bhavik Patel, MD

Bhavik Patel, graduated from Loyola University Chicago and attended the University of Illinois for medical school. He is interested in a career in academic medicine with a focus on medical education. On the strengths of the Duke program, he emphasizes the people, “The program leadership is relentlessly committed to resident training and are always available for anything from questions or concerns to fostering connections with specialty-specific mentors. The faculty we work with on the wards are world class and have a great balance with respecting resident autonomy while also teaching…My co-interns and senior residents are extremely kind, knowledgable and talented. I am amazed about how much everyone is committed to the Duke Family.”​

Spotlight: Anastasiya Bagrova, MD

Anastasiya Bagrova grew up in Donetsk, Ukraine, graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and attended the University of Florida College of Medicine. On what she was looking for in a residency program, Dr. Bagrova said, “I was looking for a strong academic program with excellent research opportunities and a collegiate environment. While I did not expect to find a place that perfectly checks off all these boxes, Duke actually achieves that."
