Welcome

We are thrilled that you have shown interest in our wonderful program. Since its beginning in 1986, the Duke Med-Peds program has trained physicians to care for patients across the age spectrum. Our mission is to train physicians to provide respectful, quality care to diverse patient populations, to practice evidence-based, humanistic medicine, and to become future leaders in health care.

Our program’s vision centers on patient care, mentorship, scholarship, diversity, community, and leadership. We are fortunate to have excellent medicine and pediatrics categorical programs to train alongside, providing vast opportunities in the care of patients in the clinic, in the hospital and across subspecialties. Residents train with strong categorical programs, and we are fortunate to have a large Med-Peds presence with more than 50 Med-Peds trained faculty and fellows across Duke Health.

Our residents bring diverse backgrounds, perspectives, experiences and skills. They pursue interests in clinical care, quality improvement, research, education, global health and more. Our program strives to help residents in the pursuit of these interests while training them to be competent and humanistic physicians. Our residents are what makes this program special, and we aim to support them professionally and personally during this time in their career. Our graduates go on to pursue careers in primary care, hospital medicine, and a variety of subspecialties.

Duke Health serves a diverse patient population. The Duke Med-Peds Program aims to enhance our understanding of systemic biases, health disparities and inequity. We are committed to fostering a culture of inclusion in which residents and faculty experience belonging, engagement, and achievement.

We invite you to continue exploring our website to learn more about our program.

Sincerely,

Colby Feeney, MD
