Summer springs into fall opportunity
Sophomore Naeema Hopkins-Kotb started building her foundation in the 2018 Summer Scholars Program in Genome Sciences and Medicine, Now, she is continuing the research she began in the Summer Scholars Program through an independent study with mentor Dr. Beth Sullivan, associate professor of molecular genetics and microbiology.
Lantos named a Chair for Duke IRB
Paul Lantos, MD, has been named a Chair on the Duke University Health System Institutional Review Board; he joins a team of 13 total chairs.

Our Division of General Internal Medicine uses a remarkable research software application, one that’s useful for both research and for administrative tasks. The software is REDCap, which stands for “Research Electronic Data Capture”.

FACULTY:
John Franzone, MD, joins DGIM faculty as a hospitalist in Duke University Hospital. Dr. Franzone received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency and his chief residency year at New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital in Flushing, NY.
