Drs. Jennifer Gierisch, Doug McCrory, and Ranee Chatterjee publish two papers in Annals of Internal Medicine

DoM-led research sets treatment priorities in new national research effort

Two DoM-led research teams are working to identify and rank important gaps in knowledge for treatment regimens of two diverse conditions: bipolar disorder among adolescents and early breast tumors in women. For both conditions, diagnosis is often not clear-cut, while typical treatments come with a trade-off of benefits and serious side effects.

George Jackson, PhD appointed to Associate Professor!

George L. Jackson, PhD was appointed Associate Professor, Track V, effective January 1, 2014. George is a health care epidemiologist who has established an impressive track record of nationally recognized research and funding in the areas of implementation science with a focus on improving the structures, processes and outcomes of care among patients with hypertension, diabetes, and cancer. Congratulations, George!

Lori Orlando, MD MHS appointed to Associate Professor!

Lori A. Orlando, MD MHS was appointed Associate Professor, Track IV, effective January 1, 2014. Lori is a clinician, researcher, mentor and educator who has practiced women's health and preventive medicine and has performed studies in several related areas, including collection and assessment of family history to improve care. Congratulations, Lori!

1/23/14: Science Cafe: What is a healthy diet?

William Yancy, MD, associate professor of medicine (General Internal Medicine) will be the featured speaker at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences' Science Cafe at 7 p.m. on Thur., Jan. 23 in the museum's Nature Research Center Daily Planet Cafe.
