Quality & Innovations Scholars Program Symposium
The Institute for Healthcare Improvement Open School @ Duke hosted its second annual quality symposium on April 20, 2016, showcasing the work of the 2015-2016 Quality & Innovation Scholars. These efforts were recognized with $3000 in scholarships to represent Duke at the 2016 IHI National Forum that takes place this December in Orlando, Florida. Multiple GIM members took part in this event.

This week’s faculty spotlight shines on Poonam Sharma, MD. In addition to being a hospitalist at Duke Regional Hospital, Dr. Sharma is involved in a variety of educational roles, especially with the training program for Physician Assistants (PA).

I’ve been at Duke 9 years now. I came for residency training and then started as a hospitalist in the division in 2010.
