Gamble recognized for her work in helping the homeless
Julia Gamble, a Nurse Practitioner at the Duke Outpatient Clinic, was recently awarded the 2022 System of Care Making a Difference Above and Beyond award from the Durham Community Collaborative, a program within Alliance Health.
Julia has worked in Durham with the uninsured and underinsured since 2004. She serves on the leadership team of the Duke Outpatient Clinic and assists with their HomeBASE “high utilizer program.” She is the clinical director and co-founder of the Durham Homeless Care Transitions Program.
Sata competes on gameshow, The Chase
Duke GIM Assistant Professor of Medicine, Dr. Suchita Sata, grew up watching Jeopardy! every night and always wanted to be on the show. She achieved that dream in 2008 when she was a contestant on Jeopardy! College Championship, representing her undergraduate school - The University of Wisconsin. She lost in the semifinals back then and has been itching for the chance to re-prove her trivia chops ever since.
Curlin named CMDA Educator of the Year
During the Christian Medical & Dental Associations (CMDA) national convention on April 24, Farr Curlin, MD, Professor of Medicine (General Internal Medicine) was honored with the 2022 Educator of the Year award. This award is presented to Christian healthcare professionals who are exceptionally dedicated to using healthcare education to change the world.
