Wang + Diamantidis author article in BMC Nephrology
Virginia Wang, PhD, Clarissa Diamantidis, MD, et al. authored a recent research article in BMC Nephrology entitled, Minding the gap and overlap: a literature review of fragmentation of primary care for chronic dialysis patients. The paper looks at the collaboration and communication of primary care physicians (PCPs) and nephrologists in patients with end-stage renal disease.

Schulman co-authors JAMA editorial
Kevin Schulman, MD, MBA, Professor of Medicine (GIM), co-authored with Duke cardiologist Daniel B. Mark, MD, MPH, an editorial in a recent issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). The publication is entitled PCSK9 Inhibitors and the Choice Between Innovation, Efficiency, and Affordability and was published August 22.

“ACP @ DOC” initiative is underway!
The Advance Care Planning (ACP) initiative at the DOC is off to a great start. Patients have already started coming to ACP dedicated appointments at the DOC to meet with our new patient navigators to get started on “Care Planning,” the patient-centered process of speaking with loved ones and the medical team about the care a patient would like to receive if unable to speak for him/herself.
