Many of the former trainees have gone on to obtain faculty appointments at major academic centers internationally, and several are Directors of CMR at their respective institutions. We offer training and employment opportunities in many positions including post-doctoral positions in basic imaging research, clinical fellowships, and physician training programs. More information on our educational and training opportunities is available here, or please contact Michele Parker: firstname.lastname@example.org or 919-668-1671.
The DCMRC offers two types of fellowship programs: 1) Advanced Clinical and Research Track; and 2) Post-Doctoral Research Track. Candidates who successfully complete Track 1 will satisfy requirements for Advanced Competency in Cardiovascular MRI (Level 3) of the Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic. Track 2 is for those individuals interested in an academic career in cardiovascular MRI. The online application for a fellowship with the DCMRC is available here. For more information, contact Michele Parker (email@example.com, 919-668-1671).
The DCMRC provides an annual practicum that provides the participant with an understanding of the principles of magnetic resonance imaging, safety issues in performing cardiac MR, and imaging protocols currently available for the evaluation of the structure and function of the cardiovascular system. Case presentations, one-on-one discussion and observation of actual patient imaging will be emphasized. This course fulfills the SCMR requirements for Level 1 (Track B) and Level 2 certification. More information and the course brochure are here.
The DCMRC offers on-site training for physicians and technologists interested in cardiovascular MRI. We offer Level 1 and Level 2 certification training which includes didactics, clinical interpretation, and hands-on scanning in accordance with ACC/SCMR training guidelines. The training is based on the SCMR guidelines and tailored to the trainee’s individual needs and educational goals.
