Califf named to the National Academy of Medicine

Robert Califf, MD, is one of three members of the Duke University School of Medicine faculty to be named to the prestigious National Academy of Medicine, an independent advisory organization made up of leading professionals in health, medicine and the natural, social, and behavioral sciences.

Kevin Thomas featured in 'Black Men in White Coats' video series

Kevin Thomas, MD, associate professor of medicine (Cardiology), is featured in the video series "Black Men in White Coats." The aim of the video series is to inspire more underrepresented minority students to consider the field of medicine by showing them stories of others who have done so successfully.

Cardiology recognizes staff, fellows and faculty at end of year celebration

The Division of Cardiology recently celebrated the end of the academic year with 21 graduating fellows. In the division's weekly newsletter, Joe Rogers, MD, interim division chief, reported this class published 321 manuscripts and presented 237 abstracts at nearly every major cardiovascular meeting in the world.
